What is land degradation?
Land degradation is the process in which land quality decreases due to human or natural factors such that land is unfit for cultivation.
Causes of Land Degradation:

Q.Is this over-irrigated land is suitable for cultivation?
=> obviously,NO.
Q.Why?
=>Because when the large amount of water is left on land still the water logging problems is created.Moreover, when this lot of water is evaporated the salt content left on top soil leading to salinity of soil which leads to loss of fertility of soil.

=> No, the situation is not worst when the land is mined to extract the minerals or metals, the situation is more worst when the mined land is left after mining activities is completed, leaving the scars and traces on land(see figure).

When the Cattle eat the grass they also uproot the grass .
as the roots of grass hold the lot of soil.But due to cattle the topsoil is eroded as the top soil contains the fertility the fertility is also vanishes.
